Product Photography with Lupolux Lights

Decided to take a day off today but funnily enough the camera ended up back in hand!

We have been meaning to try out some product photography with the Lupolux continuous lights for some time now and today seemed like the ideal opportunity. They were great. So easy to get the right look and we even had a shot at using some gels to give a slightly different look. As I say we were just playing for our own benefit but so pleased with the results that we decided to put a few on the blog for you to see.

All of these images would be easy to cut out if needed for use on e-commerce websites or for use in brochures.

See what you think! All the items were things we had just lying around.

Honiley Court Hotel Wedding Fayre

This time of year is always busy with wedding fayres and this week we were at Honiley Court, a friendly hotel just outside Kenilworth, Warwickshire.

It's great meeting new people, couple and suppliers alike. We also like to improve on how our stand looks each time we go to a fayre so it involves a little planning too!

Today we were talking to couples about their wedding photography some of whom had dates booked at Honiley Court and others who have yet to decide on date and venue. I love hearing about all the plans and feeling the excitement of those brides to be who have just had a proposal! I remember my proposal well and know how exciting it is going to that first wedding fayre and talking to suppliers. So many things that you hadn't even considered being added to your list that then gets input onto a spreadsheet, or was I the only ever control freak bride??

We were showing off our "On the Wall" package today and our gorgeous Graphistudio albums always go down well. Lots of interest.

Oh and did I mention the chocolate fountain......well it can't got to waste can it!! ;-)

Framing Services in Rugby

I cannot resist giving a shout out to a new company that has started up in Rugby, Warwickshire.

It is a bespoke service so everything is made to measure and they do a fantastic job of framing my wedding photographs and portraits. They are in the process of launching a fab website which will offer all types of solutions for hanging your photos on the wall.

They are based in the Sir Frank Whittle Business Centre, Great Central Way, Rugby. Feel free to give them a call on 07717 281106 to arrange to pop by and have a look at the items they have up on the wall.

Wedding Photography Fawsley Hall

We have been really busy the last few weeks promoting Ani Evans Photography at Wedding Fayres in Rugby. We have met some lovely couples. The latest booking is at a venue I have loved since I was a child although it has changed a lot since then. It is Fawsley Hall, Northamptonshire.

The reason for me knowing about this place is as a child we always went to see the bluebells in Badby Woods. Even last year we were there photographing the blankets of blue that cover the woods in June.

Fawsley Hall is a beautiful manor house converted into a hotel and is a very popular wedding venue. It is set in vast grounds which include a lake and a Church. It has a royal history too. Take a look at their website for more information. Click here.

Wedding Fayres

We have been really busy the last couple of weeks promoting Ani Evans Photography.

Last weekend we were at The Rugby FM Wedding Fayre at Dunchurch Park Hotel, Rugby, Warwickshire. We met lots of lovely couples looking at all the options available to them for their weddings. There seemed to be a lot of purple around...Cadburys purple to be exact! Maybe when we are photographing weddings at the hotel this year we will be picking up on this popular colour in our images.

Tomorrow we are at the very popular wedding venue in Rugby, Draycote Hotel. Another lovely hotel local for us and we have a few weddings booked in here already this year. As well as meeting wedding couples, these events give us the opportunity to chat with other local suppliers of services.

We have also had enquiries coming in from Facebook and word of mouth recommendations. So most evenings have been taken up discussing wedding photography with couples looking to book us. This next coming week we already have 3 evenings where we have couples coming to see us at our studio! Going to be a busy week.

We now have weddings booked at Brownsover Hall Hotel, Curradine Barns, Draycote Hotel, Dunchurch Park Hotel and Catthorpe Manor to name a few. Some venues will be seeing a lot of us as we have more than one wedding at a couple of the venues.

Still missing the elusive Ettington Park Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon. We married in this gorgeous hotel in 2007 and would love to photograph there! We had to turn down a wedding there as we already had the date booked which was rather disappointing to say the least!

So if you know anyone getting married either 2012 or 2013 then let them know that dates are booking up now. We are almost full in August next year already! Pass on our details and website address so they can have a look at our work. www.anievansphotography.co.uk

"I get knocked down......."

We haven't had the best of weeks this week. A theft at our premises last weekend has left us without our 2 Canon 5D MkII's, 2 workhorse lenses and a Speedlite. All of that along with the ancillaries on the cameras like battery grips and batteries, compact flash cards and even the quick release plates for the tripods.

Obviously we have insurance so now comes the process of a claim. All because a couple of "you know whats" decide it's easier to rob than make an honest living like the rest of us!

Anyway we will not be knocked. We are still taking bookings and have ways and means of borrowing and hiring equipment if we need to until the claim comes through. Just things are made a little bit more of a challenge in terms of organising.

Spread the word so if anyone does hear of Canon equipment being sold at too good to be true prices then please let us know. It's not so much about the equipment, as I say we are insured, it's about the hassle and upset that it has caused.

But onwards and upwards as they say. And as the song says "I get knocked down but I get up again!"
